Ridgefield Aquatic Club Seeks Experienced Full-Time Assistant Coach

Ridgefield Aquatic Club is seeking an experienced, collaborative Full-Time Assistant Coach who brings energy, technical knowledge, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to long-term athlete development. This is an important position in the training system of a private nonprofit club in Connecticut, USA, serving from developmental to national-level swimming. They compete within Connecticut Swimming, emphasizing the USA Swimming American Development Model. The hiring reflects the club's commitment to a professional, safe, and highly effective training environment for swimmers. Annual salary ranges from 49,000 to 55,000 USD based on experience. Benefits include up to 5,000 USD performance bonus, 5,250 USD health stipend, 1,200 USD phone allowance, 1,000 USD retirement contribution, 14 paid vacation days, and expense reimbursement. Support meet selection, eligibility, entries, travel, deck assignments, post-meet follow-up. Track attendance, progress, goals, observations. Professional communication with swimmers and families. Comply with Safe Sport, MAAPP, Safe Sport Code, and RAC policies. Collaborate with Head Coach/CEO and squad leads for consistent curriculum. Contribute to recruitment, retention, tryouts, evaluations, clinics. Maintain admin hours and provide updates. Required qualifications include prior competitive swim coaching experience, USA Swimming membership, strong written/verbal/organizational/interpersonal skills, collaborative, accepting feedback, sound judgment, appropriate communication with minors. Preferred: experience leading age-group or senior groups, USA Swimming University education, ADM education, ASCA coursework, meet-entry systems, athlete tracking, parent communications, degree in coaching, education, kinesiology, sport management.
